Rope Access

Las Vegas production rigging company offers safe and economical solutions for high-angle projects

Staff -- Rocky Mountain Construction, 7/11/2005

Rigging Technologies Inc. (Rig Tech), a full-service production rigging company in Las Vegas, has launched a Rope Access Division. The new division provides solutions to high-angle projects regarding access that is safer and more economical than traditional methods such as ladders, scaffolding and cranes for projects like renovating, cleaning, painting, repairing, and inspecting buildings, bridges, dams, and amusement park attractions including roller coasters. Rope access, commonly used in the United Kingdom and Europe, uses systems from caving and rock climbing which employ ropes and specialized hardware to access remote locations. Rope access systems save money because, unlike traditional methods, they require less manpower to install can be tailored to meet the specific needs of a structure or project and do not disrupt the daily business surrounding a project.

Rigging Technologies designs and builds rope access systems specifically for companies so their own crews can reach a remote location safely, while providing a member of the Rig Tech team certified by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) to remain on-site, overseeing safety. Rigging Technologies also offers skilled labor to perform tasks needed on various construction projects and offers rope access courses to train high-angle work crews in the IRATA sanctioned methods of rope access.

"There are so many businesses in the city of Las Vegas that can benefit from rope access," says Steve Enger, president of Rigging Technologies, who for more than a decade has worked throughout the world on some of the largest and most elaborate corporate and theatrical productions. "With all the new high-rise development happening in the city, as well as the casino and road construction projects, rope access is an excellent solution for project managers who want to provide the safest working environment while saving their bottom line."

Rigging Technologies Inc. is a full-service production rigging, structural design and rope access company. Rig Tech has worked on some of the most elaborate corporate theatrical productions in the United States, including the 2005 and 2004 North American International Auto Show for manufacturers in Chicago, Nashville and Las Vegas. Rig Tech offers production rigging services such as site surveys, drafting, project management, and complete rigging gear rental packages as well as rope access consultation and training.
