SH 130

Staff -- Texas Contractor, 7/3/2006

U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta toured the SH 130 construction zone in early June, at which time Gov. Rick Perry announced that the project would be completed about one year early and under budget. This project was contracted by TxDOT as a Comprehensive Development Agreement (CDA) and is under construction by Lone Star Infrastructure (LSI), a consortium of construction, engineering and consulting firms.

The entire LSI team includes more than a dozen firms. The LSI design team consists of Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall + HARRIS (DMJM+HARRIS); S&B Infrastructure, Ltd. (S&B); P.E. Structural Consultants, Inc.; CTL/Thompson; consultants Dan Zollinger, Ph.D. and Dallas Little, Ph.D. of Texas A&M University; PSIs; Unintech Consulting Engineers, Inc.; Yvonne Newman Engineering, Inc.; Turner Collie & Braden Inc. (TC&B); and Menon Consortium Inc. The Right of Way team consists of O.R. Colan & Associates; Southwest Strategies Group and Macias & Associates. The independent design quality assurance team consists of Bridgefarmer & Associates, OTHON, Atkins-Benham, Landtech Consultants, and Terra-Mar. Other firms taking roles with LSI are Hicks & Company; TBE Group; Raba Kistner Infrastructure, Inc.; Austin Bridge & Road; and VMS.
