Shoring Completed for Office Building

Seattle— DBM Contactors Inc. has completed the shoring for Vulcan's Terry & Westlake Office Building.
The design-build excavation support project included coordination of demolition of the existing Trick and Murray building, with one below-ground level, to sequence shoring installation and maintain continuous support of the sidewalk and streets. The project involved installing 158 soldier piles up to 47 feet deep, 199 temporary tieback anchors up to 58 feet long and nearly 30,000 square feet of shored area.
General contractor for the project is GLY, geotechnical engineer is URS, the demolition contractor was R. W. Rhine, and excavation was done by Northwest Construction. DBM also worked with Ground Support PLLC as the shoring design engineer.
