Work To Begin On South Shore Office/Warehouse In Ruskin
Orlando, Fla. – Seretta Construction will soon begin work as the concrete tilt-up contractor for South Shore Office/Warehouse Building in Ruskin, Fla. The 91,500 SF project includes foundations, slab-on-grade, tilt-wall panels, sidewalks and paving. Work will begin in December of 2007 and complete in March of 2008.
Traffic Shifting On US 441 In Rabun County As Road Construction Moves Ahead
Gainesville, Ga. – Georgia DOT has announced a traffic shift to facilitate the reconstruction of US 441 south of Clayton in Rabun County. Traffic using US 441 from Boggs Mountain Road to north of the Tiger Connector shifts over onto the two lanes that will eventually be the northbound lanes of US 441. Once traffic is shifted over onto those lanes crews can start upgrading the "old" lanes into the future southbound lanes of 441.
Construction Under Way On New Manufacturing Facility In DeLand
Volusia County, Fla. – Edwards Construction Services, Inc.’s Manufacturing and Distribution division is under way on construction of a new $5.2 million, 62,870-square-foot manufacturing facility in DeLand, in Volusia County, Fla., for Intellitec Products, LLC, provider of specialty vehicle electronics. The facility will include 37,445 square feet of factory/industrial space, 6,415 square feet of office space, six loading docks, and 19,010 square feet of future expansion space. Edwards’ scope of work also includes construction of roadways and associated water, sewer and drainage systems for the 8½ acre site. Designed by Horton Harley Carter, Tampa, the project is slated for completion in February 2008.
Landscape Architectural Services Provider Named For 52-Acre Parcel In Palm Coast Center
Orlando, Fla. – Weingarten Realty Investors and Palm Coast Developers, LLC, a joint venture, has named Orlando, Fla.-based Foster Conant & Associates to provide landscape architectural services for a 52- acre parcel within the new Palm Coast Centre, a 1,600-acre mixed-use development underway in Palm Coast, Fla. Included in Foster Conant's scope of services are concept design, construction documents and construction observation for landscape and hardscape elements surrounding a 173,900- square-foot Super Target with 780 parking spaces, and a 204,850-square- foot retail strip center with surface parking for more than 1000 vehicles. The project, currently under construction, is scheduled for completion in Spring 2008.
Governor Awards Green Island Corridor Grants For Establishment Of Biofuel Pumps
Nashville, Tenn. – Governor Phil Bredesen, Senator Roy Herron and Representative Mark Maddox has announced a number of Green Island Corridor Network Grants, totaling $355,792. The TDOT grants are funded through $1.5 million in state funds provided by the Governor and approved by the General Assembly in the 2007 state budget. The goal of the Green Island Corridor Network grant program is to help locate biofuel stations no more than one hundred miles apart along Tennessee’s interstates and major highways. The Green Island grant program will reimburse grantees for 80% of the cost to install biofuels infrastructure up to a maximum of $45,000 per E85 or B20 pump. Among the new grants:
- $35,958 to Volunteer BP located in Dresden in Weakley County. The grant funds will be used to install two new dispensers to sell E85 (ethanol) and to convert an underground storage tank and install a new dispenser to sell B20 (biodiesel).
- $67,811 to Appalachian Oil Company for E85 and B20 infrastructure at the Appco #69 refueling station located at 2004 Temple Hill Road in Erwin in Unicoi County. The funds will be used to convert an existing underground storage tank and install a new dispenser to sell E85 (ethanol) and to install a new underground storage tank and dispenser to sell B20 (biodiesel).
- $25,000 to Edwards Oil Company for E85 and B20 infrastructure at the Quick Mart #10 located at 800 North Ellington Parkway in Lewisburg in Marshall County. The grant funds will be used to install a new dispensing system to sell E85 (ethanol) and to convert an existing underground tank and dispenser to sell B20 (biodiesel) at the fueling station.
- $17,658 to Regal Petroleum Co. located at 10831 Murdock Drive in Knoxville for B20 (biodiesel) infrastructure. The funds will be used to install an aboveground tank, blending equipment and a dispenser to sell B20.
- $73,379 to Appalachian Oil Company for E85 and/or B20 infrastructure at the Appco #64 refueling station located at 3100 Browns Mill Road in Johnson City. The funds will be used to install an underground storage tanks and dispensers to sell both an E85 (ethanol) and a B20 (biodiesel) at the fueling station.
- $33,794 to Beach Oil Company located at 631 Highway 76 in Clarksville in Montgomery County. The grant funds will be used to install a new dispensing system, piping and tank accessories to sell B20 (biodiesel) pump at the station.
- $41,328 to the Mixon Nollner Oil Company located at 30 Cookeville Highway in Carthage in Smith County. The funds will be used to install an aboveground tank and dispensing system to sell B20 (biodiesel).
- $48,840 to Appalachian Oil Company for E85 and B20 infrastructure at the Appco #3 refueling station located at 1290 Volunteer Parkway in Bristol in Sullivan County. The funds will be used convert an existing underground storage tank and dispenser to sell B20 (biodiesel) and to install a new underground storage tank and dispenser to sell E85 (ethanol).
- $12,024 to Southern Convenience Stores for B20 infrastructure at the Fuel Mart USA #4 refueling station at 2480 South Lee Highway in Cleveland in Bradley County. The funds will be used to clean and convert an existing underground storage tank and dispenser to sell B20 (biodiesel).
