Case Construction Equipment has introduced the Case 621E wheel loader, the newest member of the E Series line. Like other Case E Series wheel loaders, the 621E features an electronically controlled engine that provides increased efficiency and a new cab that offers greater operator comfort and visibility. The new Case 621E wheel loader also delivers best-in-class maintenance and serviceability. Increased efficiency is provided by an electronically controlled Tier III engine that performs at three power curves to match the demands of any application while reducing costs associated with operating the machine. The operator environment on the Case 621E has the same ergonomic design introduced with the 721E, 821E and 921E models. "The design keeps operator comfort in mind and includes plenty of user-friendly controls, creature comforts and productivity features," said David Wolf, marketing manager, Case Construction Equipment. "At Case, we know from experience that a comfortable operator is more alert, responsive and productive." Ease of maintenance is a hallmark of the E Series, including the 621E. The machine features easy access to fluid-level sight gages, centralized grease fittings, and daily service check points visible from ground level. A one-piece electric lift hood gives operators and technicians easy access to the entire engine area.

The Case 621E Wheel Loader is powered by a fully electronic 6.7-liter Tier III-certified engine that incorporates the new common-rail fuel-injection system, which allows air and fuel to mix in nearly equal proportions for a cleaner burn. Operators can match power and fuel economy to their application by choosing from among three power curves—max, standard and economy power—and four work modes—max, standard, economy and auto. For high-production activities such as aggregates operations that require high breakout force and fast cycling, the operator may choose to use maximum power at all times. For operations that involve hauling of lighter materials, economy mode will complete the task with the greatest fuel efficiency. In auto mode, the electronically controlled engine adjusts between power curves to move the maximum amount of material per gallon of fuel. The Case 621E six-cylinder engine delivers 168 net horsepower. The model offers multiple idle settings to reduce fuel consumption. When the machine is idling, it will automatically reduce the engine rpm, from 900 in maximum to 600 in low idle. Limited-slip axles are standard on the 621E. "This automatically transfers power from the wheel that's slipping to the wheel that's gripping, improving traction and performance," Wolf said.

The 621E shares the same recently redesigned cab as the rest of the E Series line. The cab allows for maximum adjustments to increase the operator's comfort and productivity. "We can match the cab environment to the operator's size and preferences, with a tilt steering column, infinitely adjustable seat, arm rests and control placement," Wolf said. "Operators will also appreciate the increased roominess and better visibility from the cab." The isolation-mounted cab is among the quietest in the industry. Numerous strategically located air diffusers throughout the cab provide maximum air circulation for faster, more thorough heating and cooling. Operators familiar with the E Series will find that the 621E offers the same interface so it's easy to switch from one machine to the other. The 621E offers the same ergonomic layout, combined with large switches and simplified displays that use easy-to-read, user-friendly analog gauges.

Floor-to-ceiling glass in the front, along with a sloping rear engine compartment, gives the operator a panoramic view, with maximum visibility both forward and to the rear. "The operator has a clear, direct view to the front tires and to the bucket edge," Wolf said. "The increased visibility to the attachment and work site makes for more productive and efficient operation." The new cab also features a thermal box that keeps food and beverages hot or cold, during long hours of operation.

Easy servicing increases machine usage and lowers ownership costs. "The easier it is to perform daily maintenance and service, the more likely it's going to get done," said Wolf. "That's why we designed the Case E Series Wheel Loaders with best-in-class maintainability, including ground-line service checks." The 621E shares the same rear frame as the 721E so parts are common. The new design increases stability and durability. The newly designed counterweight conforms to the rear of the machine, providing both added ballast and excellent clearance. The Case 621E is also available in XT (tool carrier) and XR (extended reach) configurations. In addition to the 621E, the Case E Series wheel loaders include the 721E, 821E and 921E, along with the 521D, 521D/XT and a full line of compact wheel loaders.
