Rack and Pinion Lifting System for the Rental Market

Staff -- Associated Construction Publications, 1/1/2008

Beta Max Inc.'s Max Climber™ 2000, a Rack & Pinion material hoist is designed to provide an easy and safe method of transporting a wide array of building materials.

With heavy-duty, galvanized mast sections, the system can withstand the rigors of a number of harsh environments, making it ideal for rental outfits servicing thRack and Pinion Lifting Systeme power plant, scaffolding, restoration, facilities maintenance and general construction industries and with a payload capacity of 2000 pounds, the hoist can be upgraded to move site personnel.

To ensure safety, the Max Climber 2000 is equipped with emergency upper and lower limit devices, an emergency overspeed brake to guard against free-falling, and a ground personnel safety alert that automatically stops the hoist ten feet above the ground. Floor stops allow the system to halt at pre-set levels, and the entire system can be operated via a hand-held controller located at the base of the unit that is removable for easier service. Max Climber 2000 can reach climbing speeds of 80 feet-per-minute. A seven by six foot base system footprint helps distribute the weight of the equipment, and screw jacks are provided for easy and fast leveling of the base.

Standard basket size is a space-efficient 57 by 52 inches, but may be customized to fit individual customer size requirements. For convenience, the Max Climber 2000 features a fold-down standing installation platform for assembling and anchoring the mast. Each five foot galvanized mast section weighs 95 pounds and is installed with just four bolts, making for easy set-up in the field. In addition, the Max Climber 2000 is available with mounting clamps that can be used to attach the hoist to scaffolding or anchor it to a building. All Beta Max Hoist Systems meet or exceed ANSI & OSHA specifications.
