4Way™ String Light System

Staff -- Associated Construction Publications, 1/1/2008

Coming on the heels of the Wobble Light® Work Light and Wobble Light Jr.® Work Light, Petersen Brands™ LLC has followed up with a temporary lighting system. The 4Way™ String Light System takes the time and hassle out of lighting a workspace properly, is easy to set up and take down, can be laid out in a grid pattern, and comes with a tangle free storage case.

The 4Way™ lighting fixtures contain a male twist lock pow4Way String Light Systemer inlet and three female power outlets. By connecting the red power cord to any of the base units the entire system is powered up. Additional fixtures are connected to other fixtures using ten foot connector cords. Jobsite lighting requirements change frequently during the construction process and the system can be quickly redirected and adapted to daily needs. Each fixture has four connection points so the system can be laid out linear, in a grid, or branch out into individual rooms one fixture at a time. This eliminates the hassles of traditional ten bulb string lights that require the user to use all ten bulbs because there is no way to separate the string. Since the 4Way™ System is component driven, and not a single string, the user can set up as many or few as needed. Twist Lock Connections

Designed primarily to serve as an overhead lighting solution, the system uses NEMA standard twist lock cords to insure that they do not become disconnected easily. The system is powered up by a 25-foot red power cord that has a standard two prong male end that can be connected to any wall outlet, or generator. The other end is a female twist lock and connects to any base in the system. Fixtures are linked and powered up via the yellow ten foot connector cords. Each of these has a twist lock male and female end.Job Site Storage

Instead of dealing with tangled strings, the 4Way™ System is component driven and easily breaks down into smaller parts that fit into an organized job site storage case. The case supports the fixtures in a way that avoids broken bulbs from rough handling, has an organized cord storage section to minimize tangles, and each case holds ten light bases and ten cords with room to spare for back up replacement bulbs.Other 4Way™ String Light System Facts

The system comes with 10 light bases, nine yellow ten foot connector cords, 1 red 25ft power cord, and storage case. DIY targeted four-pack with no case is also available, using up to 150-watt bulb and rated at 20 amps.
