Ever-Brite Exit Signs Consume No Electricity

Staff -- Associated Construction Publications, 1/15/2008

A series of low-cost exit signs that require no electricity, are easy to install, and provide an excellent solution for recent low-level code requirements, Ever-Brite II Series SignEver-Brite Exit Signs are non-toxic, non-radioactive with no internal components to burn out and are 100-percent reliable. Based on recent advances in photoluminescent pigments and compounds, Ever-Brite Exit Signs carry the Energy Star logo, are ETL listed to UL 924 standards at 50 feet, and meet NFPA Life Safety Code 101 and OSHA requirements, as well as numerous state and city building codes in both the United States and Canada, including New York City local 26 requirements.

The signs feature a contoured frame only 3/16 inches thick that mounts easily to wall or door with no visible fastening devices. Full 8-inch photoluminescent exit letters and universal chevrons fit within a sleek mounting canopy that allows for double-sided ceiling or wall-mounting configurations. The signs install in minutes, are completely maintenance free, and are ideal for both new construction and retrofit applications. Since no electrical wiring is required, they also provide a quick, permanent solution for new, low-level exit sign requirements.

Available in red, black and green frames, signs have a 25-year life expectancy and are designed to glow for up to 24 hours even in total darkness. They absorb and store energy from ambient fluorescent light and are immediately visible in the event of blackout or smoky conditions. And because they are explosion-proof, they can be used in sensitive areas requiring explosion-proof devices.
