The Modec, a new electric truck that generates zero emissions, received The Work Truck Show 2008 Editors' Choice Award for New Product Innovation.

The Modec electric vehicle is manufactured by UK-based Modec Limited. Since June 2007, the company has been conducting market research in preparation for producing and selling the vehicles in North America. Modec vehicles are already in service in the UK.

In addition to producing no emissions, the Modec vehicle is virtually silent. It has a turning radius of just 36 feet, a 4,400-pound load capacity and a range in excess of 100 miles on a single charge. Designed and built from the ground up to be an efficient, environmentally-friendly commercial vehicle, it features a unique design and can be configured for a variety of applications.
