IMT Product News
Staff -- Midwest Contractor, 5/12/2008
Those who didn't make it to CONEXPO-CON/AGG or had too full a schedule while there missed the four new product announcements made by IMT of Garner, Iowa.

The company added two new mechanics trucks to the North American market: the IMT EDSC10 (crane body) mechanics truck, mounted on a Dodge Sprinter chassis, is a compact version of the IMT Dominator and its non-crane EDSS mechanics body. Both offer fuel economy and maneuvering in tight urban environments.
IMT also enhanced its ValuePlus Fleet Management software (VPFM), which gives fleet managers the tools they need to analyze and improve the operating costs of their vehicles over time. VPFM is a GPS-enabled, Web-based application, which increases the software's functionality and eliminates the need for manual data entry. VPFM captures all the important cost and utilization data that owners need to reduce operating expenses, maximize vehicle and equipment component utilization, and develop efficient replacement cycles.
Th
e new IMT CAS35WG (Compressed Air System 35 CFM Welder/Generator) is another new product — a compact, hydraulic compressor/welder/generator — that complements the IMT Dominator mechanics truck and provides savings on service costs and reduced vehicle weight.
In addition, IMT introduced their new SiteStar lube truck radio remote control. The new radio remotes can activate/deactivate the oil pumping system, start or stop the chassis, or control the engine throttle. These remotes increase productivity by decreasing the amount of time the service technician spends walking back and forth between the truck and the equipment. The remote can also save fuel by allowing the operator to throttle back on the engine or turn the chassis off when doing other equipment maintenance.
