Volvo Sheds IR Trademark

Staff -- Associated Construction Publications, 5/2/2008

After April 30, 2008, the Ingersoll Rand trademark will not be used by Volvo and its affiliates with respect to the road machinery products acquired by Volvo from Ingersoll Rand in 2007 (compactors, pavers, milling machines).

"We ask that references to Ingersoll Rand, when preparing materials on the noted Volvo road machinery products, be avoided," notes Winston Leonard of Volvo Construction Equipment North America, Inc. "Please do not use photographs, equipment specifications, film, etc., featuring these former Ingersoll Rand road machinery products when writing about Volvo’s road machinery and/or road machinery business," he added.
