TDIndustries Announces Directorship and Two Promotions

TDIndustries has announced the appointment of Dora Ann Verde to its board of directors. Verde, a CPA and partner in the public accounting firm of Garza/Gonzalez & Associates in San Antonio, will serve as chairperson for TDIndustries' audit committee.

Verde is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, San Antonio Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, and the Government Finance Officers Association. Verde currently serves as chair of the board of Texas Public Radio, vice chair of the Board of Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corp. and chair of its Budget, Finance and Audit Committee, and is secretary to the Board of ACCION Texas. She is also a member and past treasurer for San Antonio 100 and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Verde holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Texas in San Antonio. She has won numerous awards including Texas Federation of Business and Professional Woman of the Year, Hope E. Conroe President of the Year Award and the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame Inductee for Business and Finance.

TDIndustries has promoted Gary Barr to production manager of its Forth Worth operations. Barr is a 21-year veteran with TDIndustries. Barr began his career with TDIndustries in 1987 as a plumber's helper and subsequently held positions as plumbing lead man, foreman and superintendent. In his current position, Barr is responsible for all training, safety, quality, and productivity results for HVAC and plumbing construction within TDIndustries' Fort Worth group. Barr has contributed to numerous projects throughout his career at TD including the Wagner Oil/Caceria Building, Cantey Hangar Plaza, Acme Brick, Allied Electronics at Riverbend, and Countrywide Financial Corp. at CentrePort.

TDIndustries has promoted Jim Bivins to vice president of Information Technology (IT). Bivins is a 24-year veteran with TDIndustries and previously held the position of business applications manager. In his new leadership position, Bivins is responsible for the strategy and direction of the technology and enterprise information systems that enable the firm to complete projects on time and within budget for their clients. Bivins earned his bachelor of science in math/computer science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
