The Laborers' International Union of North America enlisted 5,000 volunteers to kick off its first "Make a Call to Build America" night on May 29 to register tens of thousands of new voters among its membership. LIUNA has a chapter in Minnesota that made about 500 calls to unregistered members and received 130 requests from them on registering to vote. LIUNA will work at every level to elect candidates who will create jobs; provide decent health care, safety and retirement security; and will help build America.
