Corps Regulatory Division Opens Mat-Su Office

Wasilla, AK— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, opened a Matanuska-Susitna Regulatory Field Office on April 29.
The office is located in Room 101 of the Wasilla City Hall, 290 East Herning St. The temporary office cell phone number is 907-350-5180.
The office will be staffed by Irvin "Skip" Joy, regulatory project manager, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays.
All normal regulatory services will be available including pre-application meetings, jurisdictional determinations, site visits, and permit application filing.
In other news, the Alaska District awarded a $4-million contract to Brice Inc., of Fairbanks, to construct 400 lineal feet of rock revetment at Kivalina this summer under the Alaska Coastal Erosion program funded by the U.S. Congress. The revetment will be placed at the southern tip of the island.
The Alaska District also awarded an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract to ENSR Corp. of Anchorage. The IDIQ contract provides architectural and engineering services at various locations in Alaska. These services provide planning and design for the cleanup of unsafe, hazardous, toxic, and radiological wastes.
The contract has a base period of three years plus two, one-year option periods. Only the base period was awarded at this time. The base period provides the Corps of Engineers with the ability to authorize up to $4.5 million of work over the three-year period.
