South Dakota AGC member Dakota Traffic Service, Tea, received the Small Business Person of the Year award during Small Business Administration's 2008 Small Business Week. Cal Lottman and Mark Lottman, owners of Dakota Traffic Service, have grown the business to 25 employees with 10 additional workers during summer. The business contracts with state and municipal governments for road construction services, including highway striping, erecting construction signs, and placing cones and barrels in South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa.
