ASV PT-60 Rubber Track Loader

Staff -- Associated Construction Publications, 8/15/2008

The PT-60 Rubber Track Loader, the first of the new PT-Series Rubber Track Loaders, is a mid-sized 60-horsepower loader that runs on ASV's patented rubber track undercarriage. The PT-60 replaces ASV's former RC-60 Rubber Track Loader that was introduced in 2004 as a better alternative to skid-steer loaders. It is a quick and powerful loader that gives exceptional performance in a wide range of ground conditions — including wet, soft or slippery conditions.

The new PT-60 builds on the success of the former model by offering even greater performance. The new machine now includes a high-performance two-speed drive system that offers the choice of higher torque for digging in tough materials or higher top-end travel speed. In high speed, the PT-60 offers exceptional performance, making it the ideal loader for any operation that seeks faster cycle times and maximum productivity. In low speed, the PT-60 can travel up to 6 mph; in high speed, the PT-60 runs as fast as 11 mph.

The PT-60 uses 24 wheels in its undercarriage to spread the machine's weight over the entire length and width of its tracks. As a result, the machine's 6,350 pound operating weight is distributed down to only 3.6 pounds per square inch of ground pressure. With such low ground pressure, the PT-60 can work productively in soft or wet ground conditions where skid steer loaders and other track loaders cannot work at all.
