Terex TL210 Compact Wheel Loader

Staff -- Associated Construction Publications, 8/15/2008

Terex TL210Terex Construction introduces the new TL210 compact wheel loader. The design of the new Terex TL210 has similar features and characteristics to the company's popular TL260 compact wheel loader, including a spacious operating cab, a heavy-duty chassis and the Terex cooling system with reversible fan. This new wheel loader also boasts Tier III engine compliance, modified toolcarrier linkage and powerful operation.

With a quiet 162-horsepower, low-vibration Cummins diesel engine, the TL210 meets the latest Tier III/COM III emission standards. For the first time in the Terex mid-sized wheel loader range, the power transmission in the hydrostatic drive unit of the TL210 is carried out via a hydrotransmatic transmission with two regulating motors and a pump. In the entire speed range between zero - 25 mph, the traction force and speed are optimized automatically and without interruption.

The loading system on the new TL210 wheel loader is equipped with Terex modified toolcarrier linkage. This combines the advantages of Z kinematics — powerful breakout force, bucket reaction force and unloading time — with the precise parallel control of the parallel kinematics in the bucket and fork lift attachment, across the entire movement range. The lifting force on the ground is 27,740 pounds, and the breakout force of the bucket cutting edge achieves a considerable 23,830 pounds.

The radiator system on the TL210 has a screen installed in front of the high-volume cooler to protect from grit. For system cleaning and to remove fine grit, the fan automatically and periodically switches to "reverse" so that the system is cleared out.

The fully hydraulic center pivot steering on this new wheel loader, which is a proven standard in combination with a rear-axle oscillating function, is effective, stable and cost-efficient. Thanks to load-sensing hydraulics by Rexroth with load-independent flow distribution, the operating cycles are extraordinarily smooth, non-jolting and powerful; rapid steering movements are possible even at low engine revolutions.

The cab of the new Terex TL210 compact wheel loader offers the operator's view through tinted windows to provide excellent visibility. The spacious cab on this new unit incorporates state-of-the-art ergonomic features including an accessible two-door entry system, an operator's seat with hydraulic shock absorption, and standard air conditioning.
