The Connecticut Association of Street and Highway Officials, Inc. (CASHO) held their 29th annual Equipment/Technical Show in May at the MountainRidge Special Event Facility in Wallingford, CT.
On this sunny, spring day, more than 100 vendors were set up inside and outside the facility. The booths displayed a wide range of construction and maintenance equipment utilized by public works and highway departments throughout the New England area.
From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., private contractors, public works directors, engineers, superintendents of highways, public works foremen, park superintendents, utility company officials, and other state and municipal public works supervisory personnel were able to take in all that there was to offer in construction and maintenance equipment. The show also offered informational seminars.
Equipment on display included excavators, backhoe/loaders, dozers, small graders, compact loaders, asphalt paving and reclamation machines, rollers and spreader boxes, flatbed trailers, wood chippers, catch-basin cleaners, street sweepers, landfill compactors, and much more.
The show hosted many booths with smaller equipment such as walk-behind compactors, generators, pumps, compressors, sewer routers, pressure water cleaners, and attachments for tractors plus compact leaders including augers, brooms, landscape rakes, and mowers.
Booths inside the building were set up to offer information about products and services.
Throughout the day, the resort served the usual spread of tasty food and drink both inside and out. Oysters on the half shell were served after noon.
Today CASHO has more than 700 members from more than 150 Connecticut municipalities.
