McCormack's election recognizes his service to the entire industry through PCI, including his terms as chairman in 2006 and past chairman in 2007.

McCormack began involvement with PCI's activities in 1996, as a member of the Soundwalls Committee. He subsequently served on the Hollow-Core Slab Producers Committee, which he chaired from 2001 to 2003; the Hotels/Motels Promotion Committee; and the Housing Market Committee, which he chaired in 2002.

In 2004, McCormack became a national officer, serving as secretary-treasurer, succeeding to vice chairman in 2005 and chairman in 2006. In these roles, he served on a variety of committees, including the Executive, Management Activities, Fire, Continuing Education, Strategic Planning, Budget Planning & Review Team (chair), and Convention Advisory (chair). In 2007, after his term as chairman ended, he participated in a variety of additional committees, including the Associate Member Award, Board of Directors Nominating (chair), FellowsNominating (chair), and Medal of Honor Awards (chair), and served as a trustee of the PCI Foundation.
