Trucking Association Holds Ceremonies

The African American Trucking Association of Construction Contractors held graduation ceremonies at its offices in Detroit, MI, on August 23. The nonprofit association trains individuals through its Betty Jean and Johnny Sailor-Richards (BJJSR) Youth Entrepreneurial/Trucking Training Program to become business owners in the trucking industry. Other honors were also presented by the city of Detroit and Wayne County.
Brian Jewell, vice president of Long Ranger Trucking Company, received the Spirit of Detroit Award from Detroit City Council. Jamal Hardin received a Certificate of Completion from the African American Trucking Association of Construction Contractors, the Spirit of Detroit Award from Detroit City Council, recognition from Detroit City Councilwoman Brenda Jones, and a Certificate of Recognition from Wayne County Commissioner Alisha Bell.
Attorney Angela Williams received a Spirit of Detroit Award from Detroit City Council and recognition from Detroit City Councilwoman Brenda Jones. Tijuana Morris, of Devine Trucking Company, received a Certificate of Completion from the African American Trucking Association of Construction Contractors, the Spirit of Detroit Award from Detroit City Council, recognition from Detroit City Councilwoman Brenda Jones, and a Certificate of Recognition from Wayne County Commissioner Alisha Bell.
