Volvo Construction Equipment's (Volvo CE) new seven-model Volvo G900 family of motor graders includes four models with the 7.2-liter Volvo D7 engine and three models with the 9.4-liter Volvo D9 engine. Each engine is EU Stage IIIA and U.S. Tier 3-compliant with Volvo's Advanced Combustion Technology (V-ACT) and has three power ranges as standard equipment. This optimizes engine performance and enhances fuel efficiency by matching engine power to application.
These graders have wide-stance blade-lift cylinders coupled with the low-angle side-shift cylinder for a stable grading platform. Proportional Demand Flow (PDF) intelligent load-sensing hydraulics and a twin-gear, direct drive circle turn system result in precise instant response and high strength to hold or turn the moldboard smoothly while moving under full load, resulting in more one-pass finishes.
Volvo's G900 graders use the HTE840 transmission with selectable Manual, Autoshift (optional) and Travel modes. With Autoshift, the operator selects the target gear and the transmission shifts automatically through turns and grades as needed. Its shuttle-shift feature aids quick, simple duty cycles by allowing shuttling between selected forward and reverse gears in a single smooth motion without clutching or pausing.
