That is how long
But did we vote for professional arm wrestlers? I didn’t. I just want a group of reasonable people to work out reasonable solutions to keep our State running smoothly year after year. But it doesn’t look like reason will triumph any time soon.
If no compromise is reached by September 20th, then some funds that go to Caltrans to pay contractors for their work will be cut off. It has happened in the past, and contractors eventually get their money from the State, but it is not a good solution.
It’s gotten to the point where Governor Schwarzenegger is calling for ordinary citizens to contact their State legislators warning them to get off the dime and get a budget passed.
Well, it’s worth a try. Log on to this website www.leginfo.ca.gov and let your representative know what you think they should do—pronto. If you hear anything back from them, let us know. We’ll post their responses…
