Say No To Gas Tax Holiday

May 4, 2008 | Link This | Email this | Comments (0)

You know, if American Idol can garner 34 to 38 million paid-for votes a week why can’t Congress set up similar system so that we, as citizens, could voice our opinions on specific issues. It would certainly take the guess work out of knowing what we want.

Right now I’m thinking about our gas tax getting a holiday. Sounds like a good idea when you first hear about it but if you read a little and think a little, you come to the same conclusion that I did… how do we pay for the roads with no revenue coming in for that purpose.

Truck Pictures At Last

April 19, 2008 | Link This | Email this | Comments (0)

Well at last I’ve learned how to post pictures to the site. Obviously the truck on the left needs no identification with the name Mack boldly running across the grill. The new Titan is as beautiful in real life as it is in the picture. The truck on the right is International’s new Lonestar. It too is as beautiful in real life as it is in the picture. While the engine manufa...Read More

John Deere has unveiled the first new machine form the construction industry has seen in decades, the 764 High-Speed Dozer (HSD). This innovative rubber-tracked dozer combines the speed of a grader with the flotation of a crawler dozer. As a result, operators can perform grading and moderate dozing at about double the speed of a similarly sized crawler. They’ll also have the ability to travel 18 mph across a job site without damaging pavement. The 764 HSD weighs ...Read More

More ConExpo

Yesterday I left you with a promise for more on ConExpo. Tuesday was the official opening day and for the press it started with a Liebherr breakfast where all the various division leaders reviewed the company’s achievements for 2007 and talked about plans for 2008. Duane Wilder, president of the U.S. operations in Newport talked about the products on display in the booth. The array of machines included new wheel loaders, dozers, cranes and virtually everything else the German-based company manufacturers.
