MEDINA, OH  RPM International Inc. announces John J. McLaughlin will take on a new role within RPM as a Senior Vice President. He has led RPM's DAP Group as President and CEO for 22 years. Terry Horan, DAP Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will replace McLaughlin as President and CEO. Both McLaughlin and Horan will report directly to Ronald A. Rice, RPM President and Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role, McLaughlin will be responsible for achieving manufacturing, supply chain, logistical and operational efficiencies at RPM's more than 50 operating companies around the world. He will also lead the strategic connections initiative between RPM business units that is leading to growth opportunities and cost reductions.

"John is a highly skilled business leader and has been the entrepreneurial force behind DAP for nearly 30 years," said Frank C. Sullivan, RPM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We look forward to having him put his unique talents to work for RPM on a broader scale as he unlocks value in our operations and drives collaboration between our companies worldwide."

McLaughlin joined DAP in 1986 and held various sales and management positions until being named President and CEO in 1994. He previously was with multinational consumer products company Procter & Gamble and global pharmaceutical corporation Bristol-Myers Squibb. McLaughlin holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from Northeastern University.

Prior to joining DAP, Horan served as President of The Master Lock Company and President and CEO of Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, North America. He also spent 11 years with another RPM business unit, Rust-Oleum Corporation. During his tenure at Rust-Oleum, he held positions of increasing responsibility, including the role of Senior Vice President of Marketing, which he held for five years. He began his career in 1986 with Skil Corporation where he spent eight years in sales and management positions. Horan earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University and a MBA from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business.

"A veteran of the home improvement industry in North America with nearly 30 years of experience, Terry has strong consumer product sales, marketing and general management expertise," said Sullivan. "DAP is one of our best known consumer brands and Terry is well suited to lead the business and drive its growth."
