Farley Joins WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff
HERNDON, VA Thomas Farley has been named a Senior Engineering Manager in the Herndon, Virginia, office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization.
In his new position, Farley will perform a variety of roles including serving as a Senior Project Manager on major transportation pursuits and projects. In addition, he will assist in business development activities with local and state transportation agencies.
For over 37 years, Farley has served in key leadership positions within the public sector, delivering transportation and infrastructure improvement projects in northern Virginia.
Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, he worked for Loudoun County as a special projects manager and coordinator for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. He previously served as District Administrator for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in Northern Virginia. In this position, he was VDOT's most senior state administrative public official and the principal representative with local and elected officials, including congressional members, for policies, funding allocations, scheduling and program implementation. Earlier in his 32-year career with VDOT, he held positions that included responsibility for operating and maintaining regional roadway network and county streets in northern Virginia.
Farley served on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Transportation Planning Board and received two Federal Highway Administration awards for superior achievement and public service. He has a Master of Science in transportation planning and engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University and a Bachelor of Science in industrial arts from Buffalo State University College.
