FAIRFAX, VA Local government leaders and residents from Loudoun County and the town of Round Hill, Virginia, recently gathered to celebrate the opening of the Western Loudoun Sheriff's Station, a facility that will enhance public safety services in the western part of the county. Designed by Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, the free-standing station in Round Hill has enabled the deputies serving the area to relocate from leased space on the second floor of the town office to more expansive and secure space appropriately designed for sheriff's office operations.

The new facility will serve 312 square miles of the county, accommodate approximately 35 law enforcement personnel, and support public safety services to the community by reducing travel time for deputies to the Loudoun Sheriff's Office headquarters in nearby Leesburg, Virginia.

"We wanted to make sure that Western Loudoun residents had the same level of services as those in Eastern Loudoun, Dulles South, and Ashburn," Sheriff Mike Chapman said in the county's release.

Located on a 14-acre site with a secured parking area, the station incorporates a sally port with adjacent secure processing area, interview and crime analysis rooms, an exercise facility with locker rooms, secure property and evidence storage, and administrative offices. It also features a community room available for public use to local non-profit organizations.

Dewberry provided architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, construction administration, and structural and civil engineering services.
