Industrial Measurement Group Added to TBS Survey Services
HOUMA, LA Finding innovative ways to enhance traditional services is part of the T. Baker Smith, LLC (TBS) culture. Dimensional control surveying and laser scanning are two ways TBS has raised the bar on providing our clients with an industrial measurement service that provides 3-D data gathering on fabrication projects.
TBS welcomes Greg Carlos, Principal in charge of the newly formed Industrial Measurement Group. Carlos brings more than 27 years of surveying experience with an expertise in dimensional control for the last 19 years. With a specialty in managing the complete lifecycle of projects from award phase through planning, Carlos leads a team in the execution, monitoring, completion and closeout phases, as well as post-completion evaluation and review.
Using highly accurate total stations, laser trackers, and laser scanners, the dimensional control team provides real time results using industrial measurement software to gather data during the pre-weld, post-weld, and as-built stage of fabrication. Results are then compared against the design/theoretical dimensions and industry standard tolerances to ensure project conformity.
These services add a valuable layer to our established laser scanning solutions that offer the latest and most efficient method for collecting measurements. Utilizing advanced laser technology to collect large amounts of data, our laser scanning professionals produce an exact 3-D point cloud representation of the surveyed area.
Carlos is eager to add the new dimensional control service offering to TBS' niche services. Carlos said, "By providing real time results directly in the field, our clients can keep their projects on task without missing a beat."
