Waggoner Engineering Promotes Engineers in Jackson, Gulfport Offices

JACKSON, MS Waggoner Engineering, a full-service economic development, program management, and engineering firm, announces David Williams has been promoted to Director of its Transportation Division and William F. (Billy) Waits has been promoted to Director of its Gulf Coast regional office.

"We are pleased to recognize David and Billy's dedication, commitment and vision at Waggoner," said Joe Waggoner, P.E., Founder and CEO of Waggoner Engineering. "Both have set an example of what it means to be a leader by consistently serving and advancing in our profession."

Williams, P.E., was most recently a project manager for Waggoner's transportation division. In his new role, Williams will oversee the business operations of the transportation division at Waggoner. Williams joined Waggoner in 2013, after retiring from the city of Ridgeland, Mississippi, having served as the City Engineer for 18 years. He brings more than 27 years of experience in planning, design, construction, and maintenance, including work with city and federally funded projects, large and small roadway construction, and multi-use recreational trails. He has also been involved in the planning, funding, and construction of intelligent traffic signal management systems and many local public agency projects.

Waits, P.E., and Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), most recently served as Senior Project Manager for Waggoner's Gulf Coast regional office. In his new role, Waits will be responsible for the business operations of the Gulf Coast office. He joined Waggoner Engineering in 2013, and brings more than 25 years of experience in the engineering services business to his new position. He previously worked with a variety of major development projects on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and in southern Mississippi, including the Port of Gulfport, Mississippi, expansion, downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi, improvements, University of Southern Mississippi pathway work and the LaFont Inn Development in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
