NEW ORLEANS, LA Stanley Consultants has been selected by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) to design the widening of a 3.5-mile stretch of Interstate 12 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.

Stanley Consultants is providing roadway design services to widen the interstate from two lanes to three lanes in the east and westbound lanes. The roadway will be widened to the inside with interior lanes constructed in the existing grass median. In addition, auxiliary lanes will be added in each direction of the heavily traveled roadway, connecting the LA 21, Pinnacle Parkway, and US 190 exits. The firm will also provide design services to widen the 1,500-foot-long Tchefuncte River Bridge, as well as the LA 21 overpass.

St. Tammany Parish is one of the fastest growing parishes in Louisiana. More than 78,000 vehicles a day traverse the segment, which runs from LA 21 to US 190 in Covington, Louisiana. The additional lanes will increase capacity, improve safety, and enhance mobility.

Design is under way and scheduled to be completed in March 2018.  Construction will commence following completion of design.
