Mammoet Completes Major Transport and Lift for Gulf Coast Project

ROSHARON, TX A major milestone was accomplished at a large liquefaction project on the Gulf Coast with the successful installation of the Main Cryogenic Heat Exchanger (MCHE), the second of three planned MCHE unit installations.
40 axle-lines of Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) were used to transport the equipment to the installation site. The lift of the MCHE, which is 150 feet long, 16 feet in diameter and weighs a total of 576,000 pounds, was a tandem lift utilizing a Terex-Demag CC-2800 crawler crane as the main crane and a Liebherr LR-1300sx crawler crane on the tail.
"The coordinated efforts of Mammoet and the other teams of professionals on site has led to another safe and successful MCHE installation," said Randall Fox, Mammoet USA Senior Project Manager. "The experience, skill set and talent we have here is something to certainly be proud of, I'm excited to be a part of it all."
