NYSDEC Selects Parsons to Help Develop Response Plans for Crude Oil Transportation Incidents
PASADENA, CA announces that its team, consisting of and has been selected by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to help develop individual geographic response plans for emergencies caused by crude oil trains. The plans, which will cover areas along the crude oil train corridors within New York State, will provide strategies and tactics to respond to oil incidents and guide deployment of specialized spill response equipment to aid local incident response efforts.
"As part of Governor Cuomo's Executive Order 125, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is enhancing local spill response capabilities, and the Parsons team looks forward to assisting in the development of these important emergency response plans," said , Parsons Group President.
Executive Order 125 outlines the steps New York is taking to improve oil spill response and prevention to better protect the state's communities and environment from the risks associated with crude oil transport. The Parsons team was selected because of its extensive oil spill response experience, and the plans are scheduled to be complete by April 2016.
