FAIRFAX, VA Two Dewberry engineers, Anthony Alduino, PE, and Nicholas Saponara, PE, have been selected to consult on the latest revisions to New York City, New York's, building codes. Alduino and Saponara will use their combined 49 years of engineering experience to lend a practical perspective to the code revisions.

Alduino, a Senior Project Manager in the firm's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing practice, is serving on the special inspections advisory committee. Saponara, a Senior Associate and Assistant Department Manager in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing, is serving on the boiler technical committee. Both are based in the firm's New York City office.

The city's construction codes are updated every three years based on the International Code Council codes, in consultation with professionals. Revisions to the construction codes must be approved by the New York City council and signed into law by the mayor.

"The construction code revision process is about converging New York City's standards to bring them more in line with the rest of the country," said Alduino. "I look forward to contributing positively to these revisions."

"This is a chance to draw on my accumulated knowledge and experience to improve construction codes for New York City, and I am proud to be a part of the revision process," said Saponara.

Alduino obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in architectural engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, American Society of Plumbing Engineers, and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.

Saponara obtained his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and his master's degree in business administration, both from the New York Institute of Technology. He is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, American Society of Plumbing Engineers, National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
