FAIRFAX, VA — Dewberry has been selected as a general engineering consultant (GEC) by the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) of Orlando, Florida. In order to support the delivery of CFX’s $1.36 billion, five-year work plan, the firm’s services will include program management, bond financing support, long-range planning, right-of-way support services, environmental permitting, utility coordination, project management, and multimodal/transit support services.

“Working with CFX is a great opportunity for our team,” said Associate Vice President Keith Jackson, PE. “We’re looking forward to working collaboratively with CFX’s staff and consultants to deliver a successful work plan and to satisfy the master bond resolution requirements.”

This is the first change in the GEC for CFX in more than 30 years, and Dewberry will work with the incumbent firm to carry out a seamless transition. After a competitive selection process, the CFX board of directors voted unanimously to engage Dewberry. Since 1988, the firm has worked as a design consultant for CFX on high-profile projects such as the Wekiva Parkway, State Road (SR) 414, SR 417/Boggy Creek interchange, SR 408 widening, and SR 429.
