Hawkins of Leon Williams Contractors Makes the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List

MARYVILLE, TN — Jimmy Hawkins, President of Leon Williams Contractors, a Maryville, Tennessee, -based commercial design-build firm, has been named to the 2016 class of the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.
As President of Leon Williams Contractors, Hawkins is focused on continuing the reputable work that founder Leon Williams began back in 1986, while also finding new ways to grow the company and become even more involved in the community.
“Our goal at Leon Williams Contractors is to simplify the building process for our clients,” said Hawkins. “And ultimately, create spaces that affect people in a positive way. I think that’s what the 40 Under 40 is about – making a positive impact on the people in your community, both in business and in your personal life. For that, I am proud to be a part of this year’s honorees.”
Hawkins has managed the construction of local medical offices like the Blount County Eye Center, retail centers in Maryville and Loudon, a variety of local restaurants, the remodeling of Foothills Church in Maryville, and Maryville’s new dog park that opened this past spring.
In 2012, Hawkins served as a project manager for “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to benefit The Restoration House of East Tennessee. The project involved the design and construction of three Restoration House buildings to provide housing for single mothers and their children. Hawkins helped coordinate more than 2,500 volunteers during the week-long construction project, while also coordinating the design and building of the structures themselves.
Hawkins is currently in the 2017 class of Leadership Blount, serves on the board of directors for Harmony Family Center, and volunteers with his church.
