Ford Joins HNTB as Senior Roadway Project Manager

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — James Ford, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as Senior Roadway Project Manager–Engineering, based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale, Florida, office. 

Ford has nearly three decades of experience in highway design and plan production with the Florida Department of Transportation District 4. His experience includes team leadership, project management, quality assurance and design support services. 

“James is a proven leader with capabilities to balance multiple priorities and project delivery teams,” said Gus Pego, PE, HNTB South Florida Office Leader and Vice President. “His insights are valuable to our firm and transportation agencies committed to providing better mobility in our region.”

Ford’s responsibilities at HNTB include managing complex transportation projects, staffing and quality control.

Prior to joining HNTB, Ford served FDOT District 4 as design section team leader and engineering supervisor, managing a variety of infrastructure projects such as highways, local streets and bridge replacements. Ford worked as design liaison for the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization SR7 Multimodal Corridor Study in Broward County and the Wave Streetcar System Design in Fort Lauderdale, providing overall guidance to planning teams. He managed and served as engineer of record for the SR 7 widening project in Hollywood, Florida—the first urban reconstruction designed entirely using AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling design software. Ford also managed design reviews and analysis of the master plan for I-595 corridor and was District 4 lead reviewer for I-95 master plan.

Ford earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Florida.
