GUCA Elects 2017-2018 President And Board Members

FOREST PARK, GA — The Georgia Utility Contractors Association, Inc. recently elected Billy Crump, LaKay Enterprises, Inc., Fort Valley, Georgia, as the 2017-2018 GUCA President at the 2017 GUCA Annual Conference in Amelia Island, Florida.

Crump has served on the GUCA Board of Directors as 2013-2014 Director; 2014-2015 Director; 2015-2016 Second Vice President; and, 2016-2017 First Vice President.  He has served on several GUCA committees including Community Service, Education/Workforce Development, Finance and Membership. 

Crump and his company reside in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he grew up and graduated from Northside High School. He is the owner and CEO of LaKay Enterprises, Inc. which was founded in 1996. LaKay has grown into a 15-employee company from its humble beginnings of a one backhoe/one helper operation. The company has expanded to include all phases of construction from clearing to the final grassing to a complete turnkey project with a specialization in installation and rehab of water mains, installation of storm sewer for highway construction, and installation of curbs and sidewalks.

Crump, along with his wife Deborah, is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and an active member of the Asbury Sunday School Class. He plans to work 5 to 10 more years before semi-retiring, and during that time, he plans to continue to strengthen his company and be more involved in the community and industry. His three daughters are his pride and joy, and he is so proud of the wonderful people they have become.

Crump will also serve with newly elected Officers and Directors that include: First Vice President Jeff Rowan, Callaway Grading, Inc., Hapmton, Georgia; Second Vice President Joseph Webb, RDJE, Inc., Newnan, Georgia; Treasurer Debbie Elliott, Elliott Construction Co., Suwanee, Georgia; Secretary Michael Corbett, The Corbett Group, LLC, Douglasville, Georgia; and, Ex-Officio Charlotte Garrett, Rockdale Pipeline, Inc., Conyers, Georgia.  The new Associate Directors elected include Jack Evans, Ascendum Machinery, Buford, Georgia and Jeremy Free, Foley Products Company.  Directors elected for 2017-2019 include Brian Burleigh, Dennis Taylor & Company, Inc., Duluth, Georgia; Tammy Cawthon, Alan Cawthon, Inc., Jackson, Georgia; Randall Popham, Blount Construction Co., Inc., Marietta, Georgia; Jason Ray, Archer Western Construction, LLC; and, David Westrick, Ruby-Collins, Inc. Those continuing on the Board as Directors for 2016-2018 include Charles Allender, Civil Site Services, Inc., Fayetteville, Georgia; Mark Gravel, Willow Construction, Inc., Powder Springs, Georgia; Andrew Lindsey, Astra Grading & Pipeline, LLC, Woodstock, Georgia; Jody Rogers, Y-Delta, Inc., Statesboro, Georgia; and, Terrell Taylor, TMT Utilities, LLC, Fort Valley, Georgia.
