Clark Construction Selected as CM for Muskegon College Health and Wellness Center

MUSKEGON, MI Clark Construction has been selected to serve as construction manager for the Muskegon Community College (MCC) Health and Wellness Center. The MCC Board of Trustees voted to allocate part of a $23.7 million bond proposal to renovate their existing athletic facility. The project will include several additions to the center and become an added source of revenue for the college.
"We are honored to be selected for a project that will benefit not only the college community but the Muskegon Community as well," said Chad Riehl, Project Director for Clark Construction. "It's our hope that the modifications made to MCC's Health and Wellness Center will improve the quality of student's lives as well as the surrounding community's lives."
The project is expected to include new gymnasiums, a cardio area, strength and conditioning area, an elevated track feature, a warm therapy pool, multi-purpose rooms, lockers rooms, and other supporting spaces. Additionally, renovations are also expected to the existing Bartels - Rode Gymnasium and support space. Also, the community will also have access to the facility for an anticipated nominal annual membership fee.
Preliminary project planning and design is scheduled to occur through the winter of 2015/2016 and the project is expected to get under construction in May of 2016 and be complete in second quarter of 2017.
