St. John Providence Begins Construction of New Ambulatory Care Center
WARREN, MI St. John Providence begins construction on a $13.5-million, 60,000-square-foot outpatient facility in Howell, Michigan. The new ambulatory care center, located at the Latson Rd. exit on I-96, will bring St. John Providence physicians and programs to one of the fastest growing areas in the state.
This new ambulatory center represents a successful partnership between St. John Providence and MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate, LLC, a national developer of ambulatory care and medical office buildings. The two organizations are working together to create a mixed-use campus that will be anchored by this new ambulatory care facility, expected to be complete in May 2017.
"When opened, our new outpatient medical center will expand health care options for residents in Howell and surrounding communities," said Joseph Hurshe, President, Providence-Providence Park Hospital. "Families will gain greater access to region-leading primary and specialty care, as well as support services like diagnostic imaging."
Providence-Providence Park Hospital has campuses in Novi and Southfield.
"We're also very proud to offer a convenient entry point to St. John Providence's outstanding Centers of Excellence," said Hurshe. "Our physician experts in heart and cancer care, orthopedics, and the neurosciences are among the best in the Midwest, and we're excited to make them more easily available to Livingston County communities. Our chief goal is to improve the health of Michigan families."
The new outpatient center is slated to house specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, urology, pulmonology, and pediatrics; diagnostic imaging; lab and pharmacy; outpatient rehabilitation; wound care; and other services.
"Our team understands that our most important responsibility is to ensure that the facilities we develop improve the delivery of health care," said MedCraft Principal Eric Carmichael. "We offer unique facility planning capabilities and have project leaders who aren't afraid to challenge current practices and introduce new methods and models to ensure that our partners are successful."
MedCraft has engaged Michigan-based resources including Diekema Hamann for architectural and engineering services and the CSM Group for construction services.
