DETROIT, MI Sachse Construction (Sachse), a premier commercial construction management firm recognized as one of the most trusted and respected construction partners in North America, announces that the firm received the CREW Detroit Impact award for new construction on the $15.5 million, 35,000-square-foot Michigan Humane Society Animal Care Campus. Sachse Construction President & COO Steve Berlage made the announcement.

"Sachse is always looking for new and innovative ways to make our construction better and more efficient for our clients," said Sachse Founder & CEO Todd Sachse. "I'm extremely proud of the team for the great work they accomplished with the Michigan Humane Society, allowing more animals than ever before to receive the care and treatment they need in a highly functional and exclusively-designed facility."

The CREW Detroit Impact Awards recognize outstanding southeast Michigan commercial property developments that significantly impact their surrounding communities. Sachse's work on the animal care campus was chosen for the building's visibility from I-75 with large expansive windows, and exterior lighting and signage peaking interest at night. Project highlights also included the unique build-out of two additional entrances into the building to intentionally and sensitively separate three very different emotional experiences for visitors. Lastly, the overall impact the project will have on education, animal care and development within the city of Detroit, Michigan, is notably immense and was noted by the judges.

Along with Sachse Construction, the project team included Neumann/Smith Architecture, TAKTIX Solutions, LLC, and Ghafari Associates, LLC. The Michigan Humane Society Animal Care Campus was one of only three projects awarded in 2016 by CREW Detroit.
