Porter Rejoins Barton Malow as Vice President

SOUTHFIELD, MI Barton Malow Company announces the strategic re-hire of Tom Porter as Vice President. Porter will engage in several initiatives supporting Barton Malow's long-term goal to double efficiency by the firm's 100th anniversary in 2024.

Porter served as an officer at Barton Malow from 1998 through 2009. Since that time, he built a consulting business and served as Vice President and General Counsel for LeChase Construction in Rochester, New York. He brings a diverse background and 35-plus years of experience in many areas of construction, such as legal, finance, risk management, labor strategy and safety.

Porter is a certified DBIA professional and an active member of the Design-Build Institute of America having served as National Chairman, 2009, and in various other national and regional positions, 2005-present.

He frequently speaks and teaches on construction topics including integrated delivery, contracts, and financial management. In 2012, he published the book, Profit, Risk & Leadership: The Business of Construction & Design-Build.

He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan and his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University.
