Elzinga & Volkers Honored with National Safety Award

HOLLAND, MI Elzinga & Volkers (E&V) announces that the organization has been honored with the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. National Safety Excellence Award.
E&V received the award at the 28th annual Excellence in Construction Gala in Long Beach, California.
"To be recognized by our trade association, ABC, as a top performing company regarding safety among its 21,000-plus company memberships is the ultimate compliment and acknowledgment by our peers," said Mike Novakoski, President and CEO of Elzinga & Volkers. "This award expresses the exceptional commitment by each and every member of our company to perform our work in the safest of manners. Additionally, it reflects our promise to train and protect all people on our projects, regardless of where they get their paychecks from. Elzinga & Volkers feels morally obligated to always put safety before profits and for this we are very proud."
The ABC National Safety Excellence Awards recognize companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee.
Awards are based on data submitted through Safety Training Evaluation Process applications, essay questions and video interviews with company presidents, CEOs or principals about their corporate safety culture. Award categories are based on a company's total work-hours per calendar year and placement within the North American Industry Classification System.
"Receiving a National Excellence in Construction award for safety is an unbelievable achievement that each and every team member of E&V can be proud of," said Tony Roussey, Chief Operating Officer of Elzinga & Volkers. "Without the team commitment to attain a World Class Safety Culture, this award would not be possible. I am so very proud of this accomplishment and of the people that make E&V an award-winning company."
The award comes at the perfect time as it is currently Elzinga & Volkers annual safety week. The organization held a Safety Symposium and has events all week long to promote workplace safety. E&V is thrilled to receive this great honor and will continue to keep work place safety at top of mind in the years to come.
