This Is How NMC Does a Demo Day
OMAHA, NE It was a mid-August afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska. The thermometer pushed 96 degrees and the humidity hovered somewhere around the you-don't-need-to-move-to-sweat level. As the sun gleamed off the bright yellow of the Cat machines - machines that stood at the ready on the dirt of the demo field - customers arrived with one thing on their minds: let's see what these things can do.
NMC Cat customers were invited to the Omaha Demo Day where they could get some stick time on a variety of machines. "The purpose of this Demo Day is visibility," said Jeff Smith - NMC Sales Manager. "We want to get our customers and potential customers in to see what it's like to operate these Cat machines."
The machine lineup included some big iron along with compact equipment and machine attachments. Machines tearing into the dirt included the 308E and 323F Excavators, a D6T Dozer, a 12M Motor Grader, and a 430F Backhoe Loader. The 950M Wheel Loader was also put to work along with Skid Steers outfitted with the latest Sitech and Trimble technology. NMC also debuted their newest machines - the Mobile Tracking Solutions Tow Tractors and MTS Scrapers.
Between machine demos and getting a burger, brat, or hot dog from the grill - customers spoke with Cat experts about the machines and they entered for a chance to win a $2,500 work tool credit. The lucky guy who walked away with a $2,500 credit was Oxford Construction. Oxford can put that credit toward any work tool - whether it's a grapple, auger, broom, bucket, blade - or more.
A hot, dirt-covered day spent in machines is familiar territory to the many who attended the event. After four hours of digging, scraping, hauling, and dumping - the dust settled as the last remaining customers climbed down from the cabs. They walked away from the demo site knowing a little more about Cat machines and knowing how those machines can make their tough jobs a little easier.
