New Highway and Street Superintendents Licensed

LINCOLN, NE Ten people successfully completed their examination and are now licensed by the Board of Examiners for County Highway and City Street Superintendents.
Licensed as City Street Superintendents are Ty Barger of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jordan Douglas Diedrich of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Rocky Henkel of La Vista, Nebraska; and Matt Smith of
Ogallala, Nebraska.
Licensed as County Highway Superintendents are Cecil E. Brummond of Bancroft, Nebraska; David L. Henery of Minden, Nebraska; Adam Hittle of West Point, Nebraska; Dathan Peters of Central City, Nebraska; Robert W. Pickering of Crawford, Nebraska; and Dever J. Yates of Lodgepole, Nebraska.
Barger is with the Operations Division for the Nebraska Department of Roads (formerly Maintenance Manager for the City of Lincoln Public Works); Diedrich is Administrative Services Coordinator for the City of Scottsbluff; Henkel is Street Superintendent for the City of La Vista; Smith is Street Superintendent for the City of Ogallala; Brummond is Highway Superintendent for Burt County; Henery is Equipment Operator III for the Kearney County Road Department; Hittle is Sign Technician for Cuming County; Peters is a Construction Foreman for the Hamilton County Highway Department; Pickering is Equipment Operator/Truck Driver for the Dawes County Road Department; and Yates is Equipment Operator for the Garden County Road Department.
Also, recently licensed were:
Bruce Grupe, PE, of Kearney, Nebraska, licensed as both County Highway Superintendent and City Street Superintendent; John F. Krager, III, PE, of Omaha, Nebraska, licensed as both County Highway Superintendent and City Street Superintendent; Matthew T. Manning, PE, of Lincoln, Nebraska, licensed as both County Highway Superintendent and City Street Superintendent; and Mark A. Schultz, PE, of Lincoln, Nebraska, licensed as a County Highway Superintendent. Registered Professional Engineers are licensed by equivalency. Grupe is Senior Engineer for Olsson Associates; Krager is Project Manager for HGM Associates, Inc.; Manning is Engineering Manager for Mainelli-Wagner & Associates, Inc.; and Schultz is Sr. Bridge Engineer for the Speece Lewis Engineers, Inc.
Superintendents are qualified to administer city and county street and road programs, including:
♦ preparing one-year and six-year improvement plans,
♦ assisting in preparing annual budgets and financial reports,
♦ supervising the annual program for roadway design, construction and maintenance, and
♦ coordinating plans with adjacent counties and cities and with the Nebraska Department of Roads.
