Erland Constructing New Wellness Center at Newton Country Day School

BURLINGTON, MA Construction of the new Wellness Center at Newton Country Day School in Newton, Massachusetts, is moving right along. Erland Construction, construction manager for this project, has worked on this independent school campus in the past on projects that include the award-winning library addition to the main school building. Compass Project Management is the owner's representative.
The 46,816-square-foot Wellness Center, designed by D'Agostino Izzo Quirk of Somerville, Massachusetts, is a freestanding, four-story structure built into a sloping hillside. In addition to a full gymnasium, this athletic center features squash courts, a dance studio, fitness rooms, locker rooms, and classrooms. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2016.
"We are pleased to be enhancing the beautiful campus at Newton Country Day with a facility that supports health, well-being and team spirit among the girls at this secondary school," said Erland Project Manager Elizabeth Martin. "The Wellness Center will contribute to a well-rounded education for generations of NCDS students."
Newton Country Day School is an independent Catholic school for girls in grades 5 to 12 situated on the historic Towle Estate. Affiliated with the international Sacred Heart network, its academically rigorous programs - together with robust athletic, artistic, and other extra-curricular offerings - provide the opportunity for students to identify what inspires each of them.
