Lavallee Brensinger Architects Receives AIA Maine Design Award

PORTLAND, ME The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Maine presents Lavallee Brensinger Architects with the 2016 Jurors Special Recognition Award in the category of interior design for their Portland, Maine, office. The project team included Lavallee Brensinger architects Paul Lewandowski and Jeff Galvin and featured photography by Meggie Booth.
Officially opened in November 2015, Lavallee Brensinger Architects' Portland office is the third New England location for the forty-year-old firm. The 2,200-square-foot fit-up space allows for multiple modes of working and represents current thinking about workplace - incorporating both traditional workstations along with collaborative space and lounge areas. There are places to relax, think, present and meet. We also provided for touchdown spaces, for staff from other offices, to work with the local team and clients. The Commercial Street office is located on the edge of the busy Old-Port area of Portland and is set in the historic Baxter Building.
AIA Maine is a state component of the American institute of Architects and supports architects and architecture through leadership, advocacy, fellowship and design excellence. It was originally known as the Maine Society of Architects before becoming an AIA component in 1934.
