O&G begins construction on Valley Transit District Bus Maintenance & Storage Facility
DERBY, CT O&G Industries, Connecticut's largest privately-held construction company and one of the country's Top 100 Green Building Contractors, recently began construction on the Valley Transit District Bus Maintenance and Storage Facility in Derby, Connecticut.
O&G is the general contractor for the project which includes improvements to the existing facility at 41 Main Street in Derby. As a part of the project, a new 4,500-square-foot addition and a 3,500-square-foot wash bay for buses will be constructed, enlarging the facility to 16,500 square feet. Existing administrative, maintenance and garage facilities will be renovated as new. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2017.
Once complete, the facility will allow for the maintenance and storage of a 20-bus fleet and will house 20 employees. The new facility will improve capabilities including larger vehicles that cannot be accommodated currently. Valley Transit is the public transportation system for the southern Naugatuck Valley, including the cities of Ansonia, Connecticut, Derby, Connecticut, Seymour, Connecticut, and Shelton, Connecticut.
