UPPER ARLINGTON, OH A project to make over the main street in Upper Arlington, Ohio, is complete. The new and improved Tremont Road was revealed at a ribbon cutting held to commemorate the road's completion.

This inviting, multi-modal corridor was completed in time to welcome visitors to the U.S. Golf Association's 2016 U.S. Senior Open Championship that is being held in Upper Arlington.

B& designed the Tremont Road improvement project, which is the largest capital improvement project in the city's history and the first project to apply the city's new Complete Streets Policy. From the onset, the emphasis was to design a welcoming and revamped corridor that provides better access for all users - motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. The project was designed to:

Enhance safety
Improve the roadway and multiple intersections
Provide better facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists
Improve connections to community resources
Enhance the streetscape and corridor aesthetics

The project included road diet and complete street concepts, tree lawns, and a mini roundabout to help improve safety and pedestrian access.
