CHG Building Systems Complete Pre-engineered Metal Building for Ace Aviation
SEATTLE, WA CHG Building Systems, Inc. worked with general contractor Powell Construction and architects Snodgrass Freeman Associates and Castino Architecture to built the 32,000-square-foot V-P building that house the new Ace Aviation facility.
The $5.3-million project was constructed on the site of Ace's previous facility and is located at the busy Renton Airfield and was adjacent to an active taxiway. The facility includes a 12,000-square-foot hangar floor and 18,000 square feet of support areas. Another 2,000 square feet is subleased by Aviation Training Center of Seattle, Washington.
The building's design, with its rows of grilled windows, is intended to recall early 20th-century manufacturing buildings, such as Boeing's historic Red Barn that was built in 1909. The three-story office entryway houses a Boeing 737 nose section, which protrudes from the wall and visitors can enter the cockpit and take the controls.
Aircraft with wing spans of up to 95 feet will fit through the building's 100-foot by 28-foot rolling service doors allowing Ace to accommodate general aviation clients and serve larger turboprop clients as well.
