A&P Celebrates Grand Opening of Boulder County St. Vrain Office Building

BOULDER, CO Adolfson & Peterson Construction (A&P) recently joined with Boulder County and OZ Architecture to celebrate the grand opening of the 75,000-square-foot Health and Human Services office building. This facility was designed to achieve a LEED Platinum certification. It is composed of structural steel, composite metal panels and masonry. The completed building connects to an existing county services building.
Construction activities were initiated with the environmental abatement and demolition of two single-story office buildings. These structures were formerly retail buildings that had been converted to county offices and were operationally inefficient. The client's design vision for the project is a welcoming; inviting and integrated space that provides enhanced community services through improved staff connections. Ease of navigation and flexible space configurations will create a better user/staff experience in a facility that will accommodate Public Health, Mental Health Partners, Housing and Human Services and other Community Services under a single roof.
With a lofty sustainability target for the finished facility, the design and construction team had to consider every possibility. The building integrates a wide range of strategies including day lighting, interior glazing to increase light penetrations, hydronic heating/evaporative cooling, LED lighting, a high performance building envelope, low maintenance/durable building materials, construction waste recycling, and numerous site credits.
