Nevada State College Project Wins Excellence in Construction Award

CARSON CITY, NV The Nevada State College project was awarded first place for Excellence in Construction by the Nevada Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
The award recognizes innovative and high-quality construction projects, and focuses on project challenges, scheduling, and safety. Winning the local award puts the project in consideration for the national award announced at the end of the year.
Developed in partnership with the Nevada State College, Ledcor, and the local ABC member subcontractors, the $40-million institutional project consists of two, three-story buildings and a central plant.
The construction of the two, 60,000-square-foot buildings nearly triples the amount of facility space on the main campus and allows the college to accommodate an ever-increasing influx of students.
Students now have access to a 250-seat auditorium, state-of-the-art science laboratories, a media center, and 17 classrooms in the Nursing, Education Building. The new Student Activities and Administration Building houses a library and bookstore, food services, and office space for campus services.
